Everton close in on Romelu Lukaku deal

Everton are believed to have agreed a transfer fee with Chelsea for the signing of Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku. The Toffees look set to smash their transfer record in order to wrap up a deal.

Having spent last season on loan at Goodison Park, Lukaku told his temporary club that he would like to make a move permanent as he feels his first team opportunities will be limited at Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has yet to stand in the player's way and has now apparently agreed a fee with Everton for the Belgian international.

Monaco were amongst the teams also interested in Lukaku, but Everton are clear favourites to wrap up a deal.
