Sam: Arsenal not invincible

Sam: Arsenal not invincible

05 December 2007 - 12:32

Sam Allardyce has stoked the fires with his rival Arsene Wenger ahead of Newcastle's match with Arsenal on Wednesday evening. Big Sam believes that Arsenal are not invincible and his Toon Army are capable of picking up a result against the Gunners.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Allardyce told the Journal: “The encouraging thing was the amount of chances and dominance we showed at Blackburn in all areas apart from the final result, which is the biggest one you want to have at the end of the day. But, if we can go on performing like that, we will win more games than we lose.

“So it’s that kind of performance and level of commitment I want against Arsenal and tactically, be ready to deal with their talents, then we will get a chance to try to get to some of their weaknesses. They are obviously few and far between, but there are some.

“I never expect to win any game, never have. You can’t expect, you have got to go out and make sure you put the right things in the right places and know that if you do certain things right and make fewer mistakes than the opposition, then you will have the opportunity to win any game.

“There are some games that are more winnable than others and, obviously, this is not one of those games, by the fact they are the best team in the Premier League at the moment – but they are not invincible.”
