Bayern Munich confirm deal for Liverpool shot-stopper

05 August 2014 - 23:39

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have confirmed that they have sealed an agreement to sign Spain international Pepe Reina from Liverpool this summer.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
  • The talented shot-stopper has been widely tipped to leave the Reds on a permanent deal this summer, having spent the previous campaign on loan at Napoli.

Reports earlier revealed that the Bavarian giants had agreed on a £2m fee for Reina, and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now confirmed that the player will have a medical at the club in the next few days.

"The player will come to Munich in the next few days for a medical examination and to sign his contract," Rummenigge said. "Pepe Reina was eager to come to Bayern Munich. He wanted to embark on this adventure even though he knows that, in Manuel Neuer, he has a keeper in front of him who, if nothing changes, will always remain the number one."

Reina made 394 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.
