Essien questions FA over Jose

Essien questions FA over Jose

06 December 2007 - 23:32

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has revealed he is shocked that Chelsea have not yet made a concrete offer to Jose Mourinho to become the new England boss. Since Steve McClaren's departure, Mourinho has been the favorite for the whole time.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • Frankly, I don't know why The FA are delaying over Mourinho," he told the Sun.

"They should get him now to coach the team and get England back to where it belongs - on the top of world football.

"Having worked under him I know he is the man to help the team to regain its confidence, like he did many times at Chelsea.

"I know that Mourinho will help England win the World Cup when all hope is lost.

"Jose will be very good for England. We all know what Jose is made of and how he can turn everything he touches into gold."
