Malky Mackay to take over at Crystal Palace?

Malky Mackay is the bookies favourite to take over at Crystal Palace as their new manager. Tony Pulis surprised many when he stood down as head coach just two days before the Premier League season begins.

  • Mackay, who last managed Cardiff City, is desperate for a return to Premier League football and it is understood that Palace chairman Steve Parish has already contacted Mackay's agent regarding taking over at Selhurst Park.

The 42-year-old manager was in charge at Cardiff for two seasons and prior to that, Watford, for two seasons between 2009 and 2011. Mackay was controversially fired after a high profile bust up with the Welsh club's chairman Vincent Tan.
