Southampton boss Ronald Koeman looks set to continue on his spending spree this summer by making a move for Lazio midfielder Alvaro Gonzalez.
The Saints have been dented a big blow by the loss of several high-profile players this summer, and Koeman is keen on strengthening the squad before the transfer deadline.
Gonzalez featured in all games for the Uruguayan national side at the World Cup finals in Brazil, and is considered as a regular at the Serie A outfit.
According to The Mirror, the South Coast club are readying a bid of around £8m to secure the player's services during the current transfer window.
