Scott Sinclair: a Stoke City player today

Scott Sinclair to make Stoke City transfer

01 September 2014 - 14:03

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has been locked in talks with his former club Manchester City regarding a transfer for winger Scott Sinclair for over a month and today the Potters have moved a step forward in their pursuit of the former Swansea City man.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Sinclair has yet to have impressed Manuel Pellegrini, the Manchester City coach, and thus has been put up for transfer by the Chilean manager.

Several teams had contacted City regarding Sinclair's availability, but many have been scared off by a large quotation.

However, after much negotiation back and forth between the two clubs, Stoke City appear to have agreed a fee for Sinclair and the player is currently on his way to the Britannia Stadium to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms. Hughes' club are confident that a deal will be wrapped up before the transfer deadline this evening.

Stoke will be hoping that Sinclair re-produces the good form that made him one of the Premier League's most feared and up and coming forwards whilst he played at Welsh club Swansea City.
