Crystal Palace have completed the signing of former England international Andrew Johnson on a free transfer.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The striker was a free-agent following his release at Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season. Johnson, who had previously scored 85 goals in 160 games for the Eagles between 2002 and 2006, is believed to have signed on a short-term deal until January.

"I am delighted to be coming back to a club that I love and have a real soft spot for," the veteran striker said.

"I would like to thank the gaffer and the chairman for giving me this opportunity and I am looking forward to helping this football club have continued success in the Premier League."

Johnson will also play a part in coaching the club's academy players.
