After England's 1-0 win over Norway in a friendly match last night, new England captain Wayne Rooney praised the impact of upcoming star Raheem Sterling of Liverpool.
The 19-year-old attacker played alongside Rooney in yesterday's match against Wembley, which the Three Lions won courtesy of a penalty converted by the national captain.
"He is a threat," said Rooney of Liverpool man Sterling. "He takes the ball, he runs at people. It doesn't always come off, but he is an exciting player and makes things happen. He is great to play with."
Sterling was particularly impressive in a disappointing friendly match. Most thoughts are already ahead of next weeks game against Switzerland, the first Euro 2016 qualifying match for England.
