Cant wait to get started: Torres

Fernando Torres is desperate to make his Serie A debut with AC Milan

Can't wait to get started: Torres

12 September 2014 - 19:11

AC Milan’s new signing Fernando Torres insists he can’t wait to get started for the Rossoneri as the player is all set to make his debut in the Serie A when the side take on Parma on Sunday.

  • Confirmed Man Utd line-up vs Liverpool, Matheus Cunha starts
  • Chelsea quoted price to sign Igor Thiago
  • The Spanish international joined the Italian side on a two-year long loan from the Premier League side Chelsea this summer, after spending seven years in England with Liverpool and then the Blues.

The 30-year-old had made 110 league appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit since his debut in February 2011, but managed just 20 goals during this time.

But the striker is now looking to get back to competing with the world’s best once again, and hopes to lead Filippo Inzaghi’s side back in to the Champions League, after the Red and Blacks finished the last season at a lowly eighth spot in the league standings.

And Torres insists he is desperate to start his career in Italy, after already experiencing the English and the Spanish leagues.

“I can't wait. I really wanted to play in Serie A having experienced the Premier League and La Liga”, Torres was quoted as saying by ITV.

“I want to score many goals and help Milan fight for titles and qualify for European competition.

“I want to return to compete amongst the best”, the former Atletico Madrid player added.
