Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo has revealed that he rejected a transfer to Manchester United during the recently concluded transfer window.
The Red Devils had been linked with a whole host of players over the summer, with manager Louis van Gaal keen on reinforcing the squad in all departments.
Gustavo has now insisted that he rebuffed bids from top clubs in Europe in order to ply his trade with the Wolves.
“I’m very happy in Wolfsburg. The same is truth about my family. We love city and the fans. Our team has some goals and we all want to achieve it." He said.
“There were some offers from the big clubs, but I’ve rejected all of them in order to stay at the club. I see my future here in the city.”
Gustavo joined Wolfsburg from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2013.
