AC Milan has dismissed rumours of Ghanaian international Michael Essien being contracted with the Ebola virus.
Reports from Nigeria has earlier revealed that the former Chelsea star had been infected by the deadly disease, and would be treated by the medical staff as it is in the early stages.
However, the Rossoneri have categorically denied the claims insisting that the story was made up by the media.
The player himself expressed his thoughts on the rumour via his twitter account.
“I'm very fit and very healthy, No truth in the internet rumours that I have contracted Ebola. im well & will be training as usual tomorrow." The tweet read. “The Ebola virus is a very serious issue and people shouldn't joke about it. Whoever wrote this article is very unprofessional and insensitive...!!!” The tweet read.
