Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is to be offered the chance to sign Andy Carroll from West Ham. The striker has struggled with poor form and injuries at Upton Park.

Carroll, a former fan favourite at St James' Park before making a move to Liverpool, has been sidelined through injury and has apparently told his agent that he wants a return to his former club. There are reports that West Ham will accept as little as 6 million pounds for the England international. Newcastle are hoping to sign a striker as top priority during the upcoming transfer window.
