Chelsea are understood to be keen on signing German Sami Khedira on a pre-contract in January, according to a report.
The talented midfielder is currently in the last year of his contract with Real Madrid, and will be allowed to speak to clubs over a move in the New Year.
According to Evening Standard, Chelsea are eager to place a pre-contract on the table for the 27-year-old as they aim to sign him up ahead of their rivals when he becomes a free agent.
Arsenal are also understood to be monitoring the player's contract status at Los Blancos.
