Former Real Madrid star Raul has reportedly agreed to join New York Cosmos for the next season.

The legendary striker announced his retirement from professional football earlier this year following two seasons with Qatari outfit Al Sadd.

According to ESPN, the Spaniard could sign a contract with the New York club ahead of the start of the 2015 spring season.

The report adds that Raul could be offered a player-coach role with the club likely to setup up a youth academy.

Raul scored 323 goals for Los Blancos between 1994-2010.
