Sol unsure of England future

Sol unsure of England future

12 December 2007 - 17:29

Sol Campbell could be considering international retirement as he admitted he was unsure if it is worth his time now that the players that many consider better than him - John Terry and Rio Ferdinand - look ready to take his place in the team again.

  • Chelsea suffer big injury blow ahead of Everton game
  • Enzo Fernandez refuses to rule out Chelsea exit
  • The Solman said: "Basically I will just see who comes in before deciding what to do about England.

"It's just about seeing what happens. I don't want to go through that situation again where I was out of the squad for such a long time.

"Recently I've played four England games I never expected to play.

"I was in there because some of the guys were injured. So I just got on with it really.

"It is a shame it ended like it did because I've never been in that position of not qualifying before, but I wanted to play for England and I came in at the back end of the qualification campaign.

"Now I'll just wait before deciding what to do in the future."
