French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has revealed that he could exit Southampton next summer, should they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Schneiderlin was heavily linked with a summer move away from the Saints following the departure of several high-profile players at the club.
However, manager Ronald Koeman opted to keep him at the club. and this has paid dividends as the South Coast outfit lie in second place just four points off the summit.
According to The Mirror, the French international has admitted of his desire to play for a top club in Europe next season.
“If someone had told me at the end of the transfer window that Southampton would be second, I would not have believed it." He said. “We’ll see at the end of the season if [a transfer] will happen. If we have qualified for the Champions League, I will make the choice.”
