Serbian international Nemanja Vidic may make a shock return to Old Trafford in January, according to The Star.
Vidic joined Inter from Manchester United on a free transfer over the summer, and has since then failed to settle with the style of play in the Serie A.
The Star claims that Inter will look to sign FC Basel's Fabian Schar in the winter transfer window, and his arrival could lead to the potential exit of Vidic from the San Siro.
It is also understood that the Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal would be open to the 33-year-old return, given his long-time experience of playing in the Premier League with the club.
However, this could all culminate should league rivals Arsenal make their move for their long-term target in Schar.
