Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be monitoring the progress of River Plate striker Teofilo Gutierrez, according to The Mirror.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had sent scouts to watch the 29-year-old in action during his club's encounter against Velez Sarfield last week.
The Mirror reports that the North London outfit would make a bid of around £5m for the Colombian international in the upcoming transfer window.
In addition to this, the club are likely to recoup funds for the transfer by offloading either Emmanuel Adebayor or Roberto Soldado this winter.
Gutierrez has notched up 10 goals in 12 games for his club this season.
