Swansea City have been linked with a surprise move for Niger international striker Moussa Maazou. The 26-year-old striker plays for Maritimo in the Portuguese Premier League and has impressed so far this campaign, scoring eight league goals in just 12 games.
The talented Nigerien forward has spent the past two seasons playing in Portugal and prior to that, had spells playing in Belgium and France for over five years. The striker has had a mixed record and went on loan for 4 consecutive seasons before finally settling in Portugal. Swansea City scouts have reportedly been watching Maazou for over a month as rumours continue to persist that the Welsh club could be forced to sell Wilfried Bony in the January transfer window.
Maazou is seen as a like for like replacement for Bony and could be purchased on the cheap, with Maritimo seemingly ready to accept around 3 million euros for the Niger international.
