  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The former England international's future at the Reds has been the main talking point in recent weeks, with his existing contract expiring next summer.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers recently revealed that the Merseyside giants have offered a new contract to the Legendary midfielder, but there is no rush for the 34-year-old to ink the deal.

According to The Star, Gerrard is considering the option of retiring from professional football come the end of the season, due to his pale form as well as fitness in the current campaign.

It is understood that the veteran midfielder has been offered a new deal in which he would have to take a pay-cut from his current £140,000-a-week package.
