Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is unlikely to consider the option of re-signing Nemanja Vidic in January, The Mirror reports.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • The Serbian international spent eight glorious seasons at United before he made the switch to Serie A with Inter Milan on a free last summer.

Recent reports revealed that the Red Devils would consider having the 33-year-old back at the club, having had experience of playing on the biggest stage of English football.

However, The Mirror claims that Van Gaal will not entertain having the veteran defender at the club, as he aims to bring in young players to Old Trafford in years to come.

United are currently third in the Premier League.
