Salah to remain at the Blues

Chelsea boss rules out Mohamed Salah exit

18 January 2015 - 15:37

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has dismissed reports linking out-of-favour winger Mohamed Salah with an exit from the club.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 22-year-old has been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge on loan this month, with his agent in talks with Roma over the potential transfer.

However, Mourinho has now revealed that the Egyptian international will remain at the West London outfit given the lack of squad strength.

"He can't leave, I have 20 players today with Didier [Drogba] a bit ill and [Cesar] Azpilicueta injured," He said."I have a very short squad, I need everybody. For Salah to leave someone has to come, and I don't think we are going to let Salah go on loan and then spend some money to bring somebody else in."

Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League.
