Chelsea have reportedly had their initial bid for Shakhtar Donetsk star Douglas Costa rejected, according to The Express.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the talented Brazilian forward, and recent reports claimed that the West London outfit had made an initial offer of around £15m for the player's services.

However, The Express now claims that the Ukrainian giants have dismissed the offer insisting that it is well below their valuation for the 24-year-old.

Chelsea host Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
