Manchester United have moved a step closer to signing defender Aleksandar Dragovic from Dynamo Kiev after a deal was agreed between the two clubs. The 6 foot 1 defender will join the Reds for around £18 million.
Dynamo Kiev have told Dragovic that he is free to discuss terms with United after accepting a fee from the Premier League giants. United have struggled defensively since the departure of Alex Ferguson and manager Louis van Gaal is desperate to add more defensive cover to his squad before the transfer window slams shut on February 2nd.
Dragovic, who has spent time playing for Austria Vienna in his home country, then a short spell with Basel in Switzerland before making a surprise move to Dynamo Kiev, has 31 caps for Austria. He is also seen as one of his country\'s best players.
United will offer the centre back a four and a half year contract at Old Trafford.
