  • The 23-year-old had a short spell in the Bundesliga that was cut short after he failed to appear on a regular basis and Duricic then returned back to his parent club in Portugal.

Mainz decided against making the move permanent and now Ronald Koeman has moved quickly to ensure that he will beat ferocious interest from several other teams in the 6 foot midfielder.

Southampton are expected to be quite busy in the transfer market today, with Ronald Koeman also reportedly closing in on a move for Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena.
