Manchester City look set to battle it out with Liverpool for teh services of Burnley strike Danny Ings next summer.
The former England Under-21 international was strongly linked with a move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day, but a deal failed to materialize.
Recent reports claimed that the Reds were in pole position to sign the talented striker, but according to Manchester Evening News, the Citizens see Ings as an ideal candidate to boost the number of home-grown players in the first-team squad.
Ings has scored seven league goals for the Clarets this season.
