Sunderland will consider hiring Sam Allardyce as their next manager should he relieved from his duties at West Ham United this summer.
The Wearside outfit are winless in their last six Premier League games, and sit just four points above the drop zone.
According to The Mail, Gus Poyet could face the axe at the end of the season, with the club having won just four league games this season.
The report adds that the Black Cats consider Allardyce as one among the top candidates for the managerial post.
