Manchester United could finally land the signature of Miranda from Atletico Madrid this summer, The Star reports.

Miranda has struggled to maintain his form ever since a hamstring injury he suffered last November.

According to The Star, Atletico are believed to have agreed on a deal to sell Miranda to United at the end of the season.

It is understood that manager Diego Simeone is confident that defender Jose Gimenez has adequate experience to take over the central defensive role from Miranda next season.

The Brazilian international has made 30 appearances for the Basque outfit this season.
