Newcastle United are apparently eager to acquire the services of Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin at the end of the season.
Austin has been one of the stand-out performers for the R's in what has been a dismal return to the top flight for them.
According to The Sun, the Magpies chairman Mike Ashley has given the green light for the club to sign the talented Englishman this summer.
The report adds that the Tyneside giants will make an initial offer of around £10m to land the player's signature.
Austin has scored 17 league goals for his club this season.
