Dempsey to Portsmouth?

Dempsey to Portsmouth?

23 December 2007 - 09:10

American midfielder Clint Dempsey is being linked with a move to Portsmouth from his current side Fulham. Dempsey grabbed an all important goal at the weekend to help Fulham grab a Premiership point, but in the wake of the departure of Lawrie Sanchez, Fulham may be prepared to cash in.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • In December 2006, Fulham F.C. offered MLS a $4 million transfer fee for Dempsey, the largest amount offered for an MLS player at the time, and Clint joined Bolton.

He has since displayed the talents that made him so highly rated in the MLS for Fulham and several big clubs continue to chase the frontman.

However, it is believed Harry Redknapp is prepared to pay more than double the fee Fulham paid to bring him Dempsey to the Premiership.

Dempsey has already scored 7 Premiership goals this season.
