Wolfsburg are believed to have held talks with Liverpool over a possible move for defender Martin Skrtel in the summer.

Skrtel is entering his final year of his contract with the Reds, and talks are yet to be held regarding an extension.

According to The Mirror, the German side are confident that they can convince the Merseyside giants into offloading the talented centre-back for a knock-down price during the summer transfer window.

Italian giants Napoli have also shown interest in signing the Slovakian international.
