Newcastle United fail with Aymen Abdennour bid

Monaco rebuff Magpies' bid for Abdennour

Newcastle United fail with Aymen Abdennour bid

26 April 2015 - 03:21

Newcastle United have reportedly failed in their attempt to sign Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Tunisian international signed a new deal at the Principality outfit last month, despite deep interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Get French Football News claims that the Magpies had made a formal enquiry regarding the player's availability in the summer.

It is added that their advances were instantly rejected as the talented centre-back would only leave Monaco for a club playing European football.

The Magpies currently find themselves languishing in 15th place in the Premier League, following a run of seven games without a win.
