Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is keen on wrapping a summer deal for former player Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The German international is not a favourite under manager Pep Guardiola, and has been tipped to exit the Bavarian giants at the end of the season.

According to Kicker, United manager Louis van Gaal is keen on bolstering his midfield options for next season, and is confident that he can get a deal done for the World Cup winner.

Schweinsteiger has spent his entire career at the German champions, making 533 appearances in the process.
