Arteta praises Moyes

26 December 2007 - 09:43

Mikel Arteta believes the current Everton squad is the best one he has played with yet, and put that all down to boss David Moyes for creating such a great set of players. Everton face Bolton today on Boxing Day keen for three more points.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • He told evertonTV: "I think in terms of quality, it’s the best squad we’ve had since I’ve been here, and the run we’re having we’ve never had before, so that means a lot for us, but we haven’t done anything yet and there’s still a long season ahead.

"I haven’t seen a bad face around the changing room, even the likes of AJ, Faddy, Victor, Vaughany, Hibbo, who are players who haven’t been playing regularly, are trying to help their team mates. That is something you appreciate when you are playing, and I hope that if I am ever in a position where I’m not playing, that I would do the same for them."

He added: "The gaffer has been terrific since he’s come here. He’s moved the Club so far forward. It’s a completely different club the way it is now from when he got here - much better organised with better players. I think that he has achieved things over the past three years that we’ve never achieved before so I think he has to have a lot of credit. But he has to keep improving the team all the time."
