Manchester United are likely to fail in their pursuit for Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi this summer.
The Red Devils were regarded favourites to sign up the Argentine defender during the upcoming transfer window.
However, The Telegraph cites that United may well give up on the talented centre-back, with Spanish giants Real Madrid open to meeting Valencia's valuation of £35m for the Argentina international.
United are unwilling to offer more than £25m for the former Porto star.
