German defender Benedikt Howedes is believed to be a top transfer target for the Gunners, as they seek to bolster their defensive options for next season.

However, the talented defender has opted to stay with Schalke, as he still has unfinished business at the Bundesliga outfit.

Howedes added that he is a key member at Gelsenkirchen, and he is not keen on a move abroad this summer.
