Experienced Premier League defender Sylvain Distin is believed to have agreed to join Premier League newcomers Bournemouth on a free transfer.

The Cherries boss Eddie Howe has expressed interest to sign players with Premier League experience.

The Mirror reports that the former Toffees defender has agreed to join the Cherries, making him their highest paid player in history.

Distin made 204 appearances for the Toffees between 2009 and 2015.
