Adrian Mutu will not be moving to Serie A rivals Roma in the January transfer window according to directors at the Florence club. Mutu has been linked with a return to the Premiership with Liverpool in recent weeks.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • “Have I heard that Roma want Mutu? Yes, but Adrian will stay with us,” Fiorentina's sporting director Corvino told the Corriere dello Sport.

“We have no intention of selling him. He still has a long contract and we have built a project around him.”

Arturo Lupoli has also been linked with a move to Derby, and he said of the Italian striker: “Will Arturo Lupoli be sold? We have spoken to him and he wants to go somewhere to play,” Corvino admitted.

“He knows that Mutu is likely to keep him out and the hierarchy presents itself on the pitch, But Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has done well when Cesare Prandelli has used him.”
