Jewell to keep calm

Jewell to keep calm

29 December 2007 - 11:42

Wigan boss Paul Jewell has admitted he lost his calm in the game against Liverpool, and says he will strive to keep his temper in future after his Derby side impressed after a rousing half time team talk.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • "I'm trying to be more mellow, but that's as bad as I've lost my temper for a while," admitted Jewell.

"Normally I'm cool, calm and collected - as everyone knows - but I really did lose it at half-time against Liverpool.

"I don't want to do it too often, though, because it's no good for me - I need the oxygen!

"It's easy to shout, rant and rave all the time - but I just felt on this occasion they needed a 'rocket'.

"I told them they would be embarrassed if they continued to play as they had done, that the fans expected them to make tackles, headers."
