Megson: no Anelka bids yet

Megson: no Anelka bids yet

30 December 2007 - 18:07

Gary Megson has insisted that nobody has yet made an offer for French striker Nicolas Anelka. Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd have all been linked with a move for the Bolton striker, but Megson has admitted there have been no solid bids for the player.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Megson quipped: "I would tell you if a club had actually come on to me, or if the chairman told me a club had come on to him.

“I would tell you because there is no point hiding the fact. But at the moment it just seems to be things that are in the papers and in the media that you have to cope with.

“But I think most people will be in the same boat. Nobody at Bolton Wanderers wants Nicolas Anelka to go anywhere, and I mean nobody.

“If Nic isn't of the same opinion, then we will have to deal with that as and when. But we are not at that point yet."
