Manchester United have shown interest in signing up West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho during the summer transfer window.

United manager Louis van Gaal is believed to be in the market for a new striker this summer, with Robin van Persie likely to depart from Old Trafford in the upcoming week.

Sakho was successful in his first season in the top flight as he notched up 12 goals in 26 games for the East London outfit.

United are also understood to be in talks to sign up Benfica midfielder Nicolas Gaitan.
