The Ghanaian international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho keen on signing him up.

However, Corriere dello Sport claims that Roma have joined the race to land the left-back's signature.

It is added that Roma have had an intial &pound10m bid rejected by Ausgburg for the talented defender.

Augsburg currently value Rahman at &pound16m.
