Swiss international Xherdan Shaqiri looks set to return to the Bundesliga with Schalke 04 this summer.
Shaqiri joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich last January, having failed to earn sufficient first-team opportunities.
However, he struggled to impress at the San Siro in the second half of last season, scoring a solitary goal in 15 games.
Sky Sport Italia cites that the former Basel star will make a move to Schalke 04 this summer, having rejected a transfer offer from the Potters.
Shaqiri has been often criticized for his failure to replicate his international form at club level.
