Sterling off to City

Liverpool allow Raheem Sterling sale

13 July 2015 - 07:33

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Manchester City over the sale of star winger Raheem Sterling.

  • Chido Obi to leave Man Utd on loan
  • Chelsea star suffers hamstring injury on international duty
  • The England international has been tipped to make his move to the Etihad, following his refusal to go on the Reds' pre-season tour to the Far East.

City had earlier had two bids of £35m and £40m rejected by the Reds for the player's services.

However, BBC Sport now claims that the 20-year-old will join the former Premier League champions in the summer, having seen both clubs agree on a £49m transfer fee.

The deal is likely to earn Sterling's former side Queens Park Rangers £9m thanks to a 20-percent sell-on clause on the player's contract.
