Everton boss Roberto Martinez has insisted that the club are not in the running to sign up Manchester United defender Jonny Evans this summer.
The Merseysiders have already offloaded Sylvain Distin, and Antolin Alcaraz this summer, leading to the perception that they could bring in a new central defender to their ranks.
However, Martinez has now dismissed talks of making an £8m move for United defender Evans.
"No, there is no truth," he told the Liverpool Echo. "I can tell you that there is nothing on that."
Evans has a year left on his current deal at Old Trafford.
