Liverpool will make a summer bid for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi, The Mirror reports.

The Reds have been long linked with a move for the Spanish midfielder, who has struggled to make his way into the starting line-up at the Bernabeu since his switch from Real Sociedad in 2013.

According to The Mirror, the Merseyside giants will tempt Real into the player\'s sale with a bid in the region of £13.8m this summer.

Illarramendi has recently suggested that he could seek a move to a new league should an opportunity come by.
