The Italian international has struggled for playing time at the Capital outfit in recent seasons, and is ready to move to a new club where he can be allowed to portray his talents.

Kicker reveals that Bayer Leverkusen are stepping up their efforts to sign up the 24-year-old, who had a disappointing loan spell with AC Milan last season.

It is added that Leverkusen will look to sign the talented striker on a temporary basis, with an option of a permanent deal in a year's time.
