Midfielder James McCarthy has told Everton that he wants to leave the club during the summer transfer window.
The Republic of Ireland international has been a regular at the Toffees since his move from Wigan Athletic in 2013.
However, he is keen to move on to a new club which is capable of challenging for European qualification on a seasonal basis.
