West Ham United are on the search for a new striker, according to reports.

The Hammers currently have Diafra Sakho as their only reliable option upfront, with the likes of Andy Caroll and Enner Valencia expected to miss the first few months of the new league season through injury.

Club's co-chairman David Gold has now revealed that the club are trying their very best to sign up a top quality striker ahead of the new season.

"We've lost [Enner] Valencia for the beginning of the season. We were already believing that we required another striker in the squad and we'll be doing everything in our power to bring in the best players we can," Gold told Sky Sports News.
